Also certified as a yoga instructor, Sharon has received 100 hours of Ashtanga Yoga training as well as 200 hours of Hatha Yoga training.
Sharon opened the Penticton Pilates Studio in January 2013, and believes passionately that the Classical Method of Pilates conditioning was designed to heal people through movement: with commitment and patience, the body will start to heal and move as it was naturally designed to do.
Sharon strives to make her studio and teaching environment supportive by positioning herself as a facilitator for her clients’ learning processes. Her goal is for each of them to create their own unique relationship with their body as they learn to understand movement and how it applies to their particular needs, knowing there is “no one size fits all”, while respecting other disciplines and practices that may enhance client performance. She adapts both her teaching and learning through continuous feedback from her clients as they progress, while sharing her joy and passion for Pilates.
Sharon is also involved in formal training on an ongoing basis through workshop opportunities with other Classical Instructors.
When she isn’t teaching Pilates you can find Sharon hiking, biking, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, or snowboarding.
Tracy has always been about living an active and healthy lifestyle and through her passion for nature and the outdoors. She and her husband made the decision to raise their family in the South Okanagan, which has given plenty of opportunity to follow that passion. Spending much of her free time hiking, skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding, Tracy’s busy lifestyle also includes time volunteering with the Burrowing Owl Conservation Society in her desire to give back.
After practicing various different styles of yoga over the last 12 years and 4 years developing a love for classical pilates, Tracy joined the 2017/2018 Reflexions teacher training school in an attempt to elevate her practice to a new level. Her desire to challenge herself with new experiences has lead her to find a passion for teaching. Through her years of learning and practice, she has developed a style of teaching that merges both her love of yoga and pilates together.
